The event, themed "Vietnam Internet: Innovation for Digital Transformation," took place this morning (December 11) in Hanoi. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai; Former Deputy Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mai Liem Truc and former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association.

This is an event hosted by the Vietnam Internet Association and was first held in 2012 to celebrate the day Vietnam officially joined the Internet: November 19, 1997. Over the past 8 years, Internet Day has become a highly valuable activity for the Vietnamese internet community, allowing for reflection on the previous year and strategic planning for the upcoming year.

In the opening speech, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai highly appreciates the theme "Vietnam Internet: Innovation for digital transformation" proposed by the Vietnam Internet Association, thereby emphasizing that the most innovative environment is the Internet and the digital environment, and is a strategically important factor determining the success of the digital transformation of the economy.

A significant highlight of the Internet Day 2019 event was the establishment of the Vietnam Cloud Computing and Data Center Club (VNCDC) with 11 founding members, all of whom are businesses operating in the field of cloud computing services and data centers.

Specifically, the list of businesses that are members of VNCDC includes VNG Joint Stock Company; Viettel CHT Company Limited; CMC Telecom Infrastructure Joint Stock Company (CMC Telecom); Nhan Hoa Software Company Limited; FPT International Telecommunication Joint Stock Company (FTI); Z.com Joint Stock Company; Viettel Net Corporation; VNPT IT Corporation; NetNam Joint Stock Company; HTC International Telecommunication Joint Stock Company; and iNET Software Company Limited.

At the event, Mr. Vu Hoang Lien, Chairman of the Vietnam Internet Association, stated, "VNCDC was established with the mission of promoting the development of cloud computing services and data centers, contributing to the national digital transformation process and the digital transformation of Vietnamese organizations and enterprises."

The club's activities will be closely integrated with those of the Vietnam Internet Association, aiming to create synergy and a brighter future for Vietnam's internet landscape, Mr. Lien added.

He also outlined the prioritized tasks of VNCDC, which include exploring, proposing, and implementing measures to foster the growth of the cloud computing and data center market in Vietnam. Additionally, VNCDC aims to enhance the capacity and knowledge of its members and the community, as well as facilitate cooperation in the field of cloud computing and data centers.

The Internet Day 2019 event also brought together numerous domestic and foreign enterprises in the internet and telecommunications sector, such as Facebook, VNPT, DotAsia, and P.A Vietnam, to engage in discussions on the topic of "Innovation created to Convert Numbers." The event featured a Business Matching activity to facilitate connections and investment opportunities for startups.

During the discussion sessions, prominent speakers and industry experts convened to address the subject of national digital transformation, offering solutions and guidance to businesses. The goal was to provide an easy-to-use platform for businesses in digital marketing and foster connections with digital solution providers to support their online business growth.
